Gunners cling onto top spot

The Gunners' determination are intensely tested at the Emirates when they drew with Aston Villa 1-1 on Saturday. Arsenal played cautiously in the first half following the horror injury of Eduardo a week ago. After a shocking Senderos own-goal in the first half, Arsenal dominated the second half but just couldn't find the back of the net.

It was like this until the 3rd minute of the stoppage time when Gael Clichy sent the ball back into the box where Ade is lurking. He heads the ball downwards and towards Bendtner before the Dane puts it in from six yards.

However, the Frenchman knows his men must rediscover their winning formula soon - or a season which promised so much could still fade away. For now, it is still much alive, although the gap had been reduced to just a point as Man Utd won 3-0 at Fulham. Hargreaves, Park Ji-sung and an own-goal by Simon Davies were the scorers.
