Kaizer05 comes back into the clan and presents the clan a gift immediately as he lifted the Asia & AU Expert Cup 179 2008 today! Well done!

The hero of the day should however, go to kingextreme --ars--! Two cups in a day, AF & PCD expert cup 178 and 179 2008, bags another hat-trick of trophies for the Asian Red Stars. 25 trophies now in total, with 9 cups won in the previous 5 days prove that the --ARS-- is progressing - at the speed of light!

Red Stars On Course To Repeat Heroics of Treble Cup Win!

--ARS-- lifted the Asia & AU Expert Cup 176 2008 earlier in the day again with both Red Stars member s9708953s(Eddy) --ARS-- & bibopcun --ARS-- dominating the final. However, it was Eddy who ran out as winner with a hard earn 3-2 victory over bibopcun. Well done & congrats to both Eddy & Bibopcun for bringing the 22nd cup to the clan!

Stars shining in Asia

What a day for Asian Red Stars --ARS--!

Firstly it was the cup win by s9708953s(Eddy) --ARS-- at the 5pm Asia Expert cup. Eddy won his second for the clan and what an acheivement! Secondly, flammable --ARS-- won the same 8pm cup. An "all-Star" finals had confirmed an certain --ARS-- winner even before the match, with either flammable or Kenny (alanarsenal --ARS--) in contention. However, flammable came out as eventual winners.

And this is more than coincidence. Just yesterday, --ARS-- had been officially acknowledged as a POWER SOCCER CLAN. --ARS-- also named itself the "Asian Red Stars" at the same day. --ARS--, still a young clan - less than a month old, had been dominant in Asia regions. The rising power of the clan has been proved by 4 cups in 3 consecutive days - won by kingextreme, Kenny and of course, Eddy and Flammable.

Although most cups are won by the ones who participated in the Expert Cup, we strongly believe that the Rookie Cups can be won too. Why? Simply because our Rookie members are rising "Red Stars" - Just like how the Gunners create many rising stars!

Well done, guys! Keep it up, yeah! --ARS--, best in Asia and probably in the world - just like the "invincible Gunners".

Another Cup Double For The Red Stars!

An emphatic effort by our member flammable --ARS-- in the semis to beat arsalan1 9-8 on penalties and lifting the Asia & AU Expert Cup 174 2008 cup on its way in an all Red Stars final which another member of us alanarsenal(Kenny) --ARS-- finished as runners up. Congrats to both flammable and Kenny for reaching the finals and bringing the 20th cup and double of the day to our clan! Bravo!

Red Stars Brings Home the 19th Cup!

It was a tense match between our member s9708953s(Eddy) --ARS-- with grim_dave in the final of the Asia & AU Expert Cup 173 2008 which ended 3-2 with Eddy as the winner, an 87th minute winning goal which lifted the 19th cup and a personal second to the clan! Well done Eddy!

--ARS-- Gained Acknowledgement As An Official Clan in Power Soccer!

On my way clicking to register for our clan to be recognize as an official clan in the clan forum, surprisingly i found out that our clan had already been included amongst the clan list, so acting curiously i search through powdersnow's guest book and the reply messages and found out that our man Alan --ARS-- had actually register our clan early on last Friday. Full credits to Alan for his contribution and passion for the clan, big thanks man!

Ever wonder what our clan name ARS stands for? Yes, if you haven't know, it is originally the initial or short form for Arsenal, but after witnessing the growth of --ARS-- day by day, i realized that it is time for our clan to have a name of its own. Therefore after a cracking brain storming session, the name Asian Red Stars was bring to life, inspired largely by our very own team badge and clan members, besides bringing in a stronger character for the clan, the name also represents every one of us (majority Asians) as the rising red stars of Asia region in Power Soccer. So let's cherish for the rise of Asian Red Stars! Cheers!

Footie Update - Eduardo Forgives Taylor

Eduardo da Silva has forgiven Birmingham City defender Martin Taylor for the tackle that left him with a fractured left fibula and dislocated ankle.

The Brazilian-born Croatia international faces up to nine months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on Saturday. He suffered the injury during the weekend's Premier League match that ended in a 2-2 draw.

'I forgive Martin. It hurt like hell but I'm fine now. I know he did not do it on purpose,' Eduardo told the local newspaper. 'I was horrified when I saw how my leg looked at first and wondered how it would all end. But I will be back.'

The striker, who turned 25 on Monday, refused to get too disheartened.

'These things can happen in football. I see this as a risk of professional football,' he said. 'Sometimes you go up, sometimes you go down.'

According to Arsenal.com, he would be released from hospital in a few days.

kingextreme brings 17th trophy!

Congrats to kingextreme --ars-- who got his 2nd trophy since joining the clan --ars--! That will also bring the --ars-- trophy tally to 17!

Kingextreme won the AF & PCD Expert Cup 166 2008 by demolishing opponents by scorelines of 7-0 and 9-1 in the semis and final. Keep up the good work, kingextreme! Well done!

It is definitely a big loss for the gunners at this crucial stage of the season as Eduardo will miss the rest of the season and most likely the Euro 2008! Eduardo Da Silva, a name every soccer fans including me will be expecting to see challenging for golden boot honours and taking Croatia far in the tournament with his goal scoring instinct will now end in disappointment! However, spirits are high in the gunners camp as Flamini has vowed to win the premier league for the Croatian, and undoubtedly they have what it takes to finish the job. Finally, everyone at --ARS-- would also like to wish Eduardo a speedy recovery and returning to the game soon as much greater honours with the gunners awaits him! Get well soon, Eduardo!

Spurs defender Jonathan Woodgate scored the winning goal in extra time to give his team a 2-1 win over west London rivals Chelsea in the Carling Cup final at Wembley Stadium. Didier Drogba had given the Blues the lead but Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov equalised in the 70th minute from the penalty spot to force extra-time.

Meanwhile, Eduardo Da Silva returned to London after suffering a broken leg from a sickening tackle by Taylor in the 2-2 draw with Birmingham on Saturday. Eduardo now has been moved to a London-based hospital after undergoing surgery at Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham. The first diagnosis is "very, very bad" and he likely will have to miss the rest of the season, plus the EURO 2008 in June this year.

Arsene Wenger commented "The injury is the result of a very bad tackle. The first diagnosis we have of the injury is very, very bad. I would not like to go into medical details because I am not qualified enough but the first news is very bad. He is in hospital."

You certainly wouldn't want a picture of his injury, would you?

Meanwhile in the Barclays Premiership, Aston Villa kept their European dreams alive by beating Reading 2-1 at the Madejski Stadium. Goals from Ashley Young and Marlon Harewood gave Villa a 2-0 lead, before Nicky Shorey gave Reading a consolation goal in the stoppage time of the second half.

Blackburn also crushed Bolton 4-1 at Ewood Park. Two goals from Benny McCarthy, both from the spot and one each from David Bentley and Morten Gamst Pedersen gave Blackburn the four goals. The only Bolton goal was scored by Kevin Davis. After all, it does not seem wise to accept the 16 million pound move for Anelka.
